January 29, 1921 - May 2, 2018

ELISABETH ECKER ROTH RADULOVICH age 97 passed away peacefully May 2, 2018 in Annapolis, MD. She is survived by her two daughters, Adelheid Roth Jung (Anthony Jung) of Omaha, NE and Cindy Radulovich Smiley (Patrick Smiley) of Annapolis, MD, three grandchildren Barbara Jung Stubbendieck (Bradley Stubbendieck), Elisabeth Jung Chandler, Henri Jung (Tammy Swartz Jung) and nine adoring great grandchildren; Alexander Stubbendieck, Sara Stubbendieck, Katharine Chandler, Nicole Chandler, Christopher Chandler, Whitney Jung, Aaron Jung, Meredith Jung and Ryan Jung. She is also survived by her sister Johanna Ecker Dewees, nieces, nephews, extended devoted family and dear friends. She was preceded by two loving husbands Eduard Roth (decd. 1945) and Djuro “George” Radulovich (decd. 1977) and by seven siblings. Elisabeth was born on January 29, 1921 in Pale, near Sarajevo then part of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes. She married in 1941, and had her first daughter, Adelheid on July 4, 1942 in Sarajevo. In October 1942 her journey began across Europe. Then and as a young widow after WWII she touched many lives with her faith, kindness, perseverance, and courage. In 1955, an embodiment of enduring faith, optimism and strength, she embarked upon a great adventure to the USA settling first in Chicago, IL where she remarried. In 1963 her second daughter, Cindy, was born. Later she moved to Omaha, NE to be near her grandchildren. She filled life with family and friends, in whom she instilled her enduring faith and sense of joy. She cherished friendship, cooking and baking, gardening, sledding, and hiking the mountains near her retirement home in Thurmont, MD into her golden years. Elisabeth ended her life’s journey in Annapolis, MD, May 2, 2018. Elisabeth loved reading and writing poetry. HOPE encompasses her resilience and journey to the USA. HOPE “One ever talks, and One ever dreams Of better days that are yet to be, After glittering goal, that distant gleams, Running and racing untiringly. The worldly may grow old and you as it Will, But the hope of One is improvement Still.” Friedrich Schiller Lying In State, Saturday, May 12th, 10:00 a.m. at St. Gilbert Catholic Church, 301 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake until time of Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Muzyka & Son Funeral Home.
