Barbara Jean Mrozek Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Barbara Jean Mrozek, nee Tranchida, of Norridge, IL, born February 1, 1942, beloved wife of Robert J., loving mother of Diana, daughter of the late Mary Tranchida, nee Stamborski, and the late Joseph Tranchida; step sister of James Tranchida, step sister of Danita (Ron) Skidmore and Sandra Ricedorf. She is survived by two aunts, many cousins, nieces and nephews. Barbara died peacefully with her husband and daughter at her side after a 2 year battle with ovarian cancer. Barbara was a caring and protective mother to Diana as well as a very kindhearted and thoughtful person to all her family and friends. She kept a record of everyone’s birthday, anniversary, etc. and would send a card, usually with a short personal note included. She would spent a great amount of time in the stores looking for the right card for each person. When she could no longer get to the stores, her list was given to her husband to shop for the cards. Forty to fifty cards per visit was not unusual. She maintained contact with 5 of her grade school classmates from St. Pascal’s Catholic Church (going back to the late 1940’s) until they died, and sent notes of remembrance and support to those that were struggling with health issues. She was happiest when she saw a puppy learning how to walk on a leash, but her favorite was any dachshund (let’s be honest, any dog) that she saw walking while we were driving and those who were walked past our house. She loved all her grand dogs but Mr. Sam (a dachshund, of course) was her “little sweetheart puppy”. She would reminisce about him and his sister Baby Girl almost on a daily basis. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 2:00 - 8:00 pm at Muzyka and Son Funeral Home, 5776 W Lawrence Ave, Chicago. Family and friends will meet Wednesday at 10:00 am at St. Rosalie Catholic Parish. Funeral Mass 10:00 am. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, IL to follow.
